Our all-day workshops for singers and accompanists take place three times per year in The Music Room at the Anteros Arts Foundation. Each run between 9:30am-6pm on a Saturday in the Spring, Summer and Autumn seasons and allow for two twenty minute one-to-one sessions per candidate.
We attract a range of international performers and musicians to lead the day and impart their experience and knowledge. Previous workshops have been led by Roger Vignoles, Roderick Williams, Joseph Middleton, Diana Moore, Hilary Summers, Kate Royal and Elin Manahan-Thomas.
Workshop fees* are competitive and cater for singers both with and without their own accompanist:
Singer/accompanist pairs: £160
Our official accompanist, Karen Smith, will be available to all on the day and we recommend that singers make contact with her as early as possible in order to rehearse together. It is advisable to bring a clear copy of your music for the pianist and workshop leader. Given the length of the one-to-one sessions, we would recommend a maximum of seven minutes per pieces. Longer pieces could be worked on over both sessions.
Bursaries are available at the discretion of the secretary Karen Harries. If you are interested in applying please contact her with a short explanation of your circumstances.
Please note that accommodation can be arranged at a local Premier Inn if required. This would be an additional cost to the participant.
*Anteros Arts is surrounded by cafebars which means that drinks and snacks are available for purchase all day. Opera da Camera also reserve a table for a sociable lunch with all interested participants. Packed lunches are welcomed as an alternative.
